What motivates you to give back to your community?

Giving back to the community was something my family did regularly growing up and has always been a rewarding experience. Volunteer work is something I hope to continue to pass down to my kids as a vital experience to gain new perspectives and have a sense of purpose and a better understanding of your community.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?

You will make mistakes but don’t be so hard on yourself when you do and concentrate on learning from those mistakes. Be patient. Do not waste time worrying about how your life achievement timeline compares to other people.

What would make New Hampshire more attractive to young professionals?

We need to continue to focus on building affordable housing and continue to address child care issues. The state has made great strides in recent years but we still have work to do to retain and attract young professionals.

Do you see yourself living and working in New Hampshire at age 55-plus?

Yes. My wife and I moved back to New Hampshire from South Carolina when we were settling down because it is close to friends and family and we feel it is a great place to raise a family.
