NASHUA -- A 23-year-old man sustained serious, life-threatening injuries when the motorcycle he was operating crashed near the intersection of West Hollis and Simon streets Thursday evening.

Police Sgt. John Cinelli said the man, whose name wasn't released, apparently lost control of the cycle, resulting in the crash that occurred around 6:45 p.m.

The investigation, which included locating and viewing video cameras that captured the incident, determined that there were no other vehicles involved in the crash, Cinelli said.

The man was reported to be unconscious when first-responders arrived, at which time they began performing life-saving measures and stabilizing the man for transport to a local hospital.

Police closed a section of West Hollis Street between Simon Street and the approach to the Exit 5 Everett Turnpike overpass to allow accident reconstruction specialists to gather evidence and document the scene.

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have more information to contact the department's Crime Line at 589-1665.
